I work at the DA’s office* and I sat in on a trial this morning. We all expected it to be a relatively short affair - starts at 8 and should be done by 3. No, it didn’t end until 5 and the jury’s been deliberating since then and it’s now 8pm. 12 hours later and no resolution yet.
I felt a bit bad, but I left after the 11th hour. I figured that I had done no research for this case, and I was just observing the ADA do her thing. I did want to see what the verdict was, but, in my mind, it’s sortof like sitting through the entirety of Wagner’s Ring Cycle performed by circus monkeys and clowns - kindof interesting, sure, but really not worth staying until the end.
*District Attorney not, unfortunately, Dumbledore’s Army.
![Destruction you can believe in.
